Assignment Two

Assignment 2
Take 2 lighting shots of an object, from different angle.
Take 4 humans/ animals shots, title “Decisive Moment”.
“Black is Beautiful”

“Lighting”
The Clock – Time in dark
I chose the clock for my lighting shots because time does not change even in dark. Most people find night time pass faster than the rest of the day or didn’t change much, as they spent their time sleeping, I want to bring out that time still flow in the dark. For sleeping is not a moment most people remember that they are doing it.

“Decisive Moment”
The interaction between people generate a lot of movements, and some action are so rare that people label them as their once in a lifetime moment. And one type of interaction is conflict moments, the point which ignite a fight. Which friends are prone to, so I was trying to take a photo of the reaction when friends clash with each other.
"Friends Do fight", Conflict Moment

There are also moments when children exhibit their innocent and adorable side. I take this doing a wedding dinner, where there a lot of kids around. This photo was my nieces, Ariel, I was trying to take when she display her adorable side when playing with the roses.

"the Child in everyone", Innocent Moment

Human spent almost 1/3 of their life sleeping, it rare to remember anything unless you have dream of something. If it’s a sweet dream, most likely you will remember for quite some time, it linger within your thoughts and hope it will become real, instead of just a moment in dream. I saw my friend unknowing doze off, and with a playground setting, I was tempted to take this shot.

"Sleeping Beauty", Dream Moment

Teamwork creates bonding, friendship and generates an everlasting memory in the person life. They will tend to think back to the moment when they starting to know a person from a stranger to a friend. This photo was taken knowing they are unfamiliar with each other while trying to play a game as a team. Within this situation each react differently, therefore I was trying to capture the “exploring moment”.

Assignment One

Assignment One
Take 2 exterior architecture shots 1 during day, 1 during night.
Take 2 interior architecture shots 1 during day, 1 during night.
Take 2 self portrait shots; title “This is ME!”
"Extraordinary Out of Ordinary"

The Scarlet – A Boutique Hotel
I was captured by this unique structure as it stands out in comparison with the building around. It is located in Chinatown, near Maxwell food centre. This building creates a sense of fusion by joining Chinatown old shop house with a classy western style by the design, paints and lighting. At the same time it is hidden in a corner of a busy area, but instead of feeling crowded it generates an aura of serenity, a place where you can feel you can relax at.

Day shotNight Shot

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay
Esplanade have been a good subject to shot for it unique design, but instead on focusing on the “durian” hulls, I want to try something else. I try to take the interior with the light coming in as I find that Esplanade has many areas where the light can hit in. I try to take repeat pattern of triangle as it seems to be iconic for Esplanade.

Day Shot

Night shot

“This is ME!”
This was taken at my house; the replicate was cause by the 2 mirror panel door. I was trying to play with the lights and the mirror angle. Looking through the camera, show my interest of capturing any moment I attach to. My intention for taking this shot was to show who I am. A person who likes to look at things at different perspective, the many “face” or expression, yet at the same time there is only one person there and that ME.

This was taken at the National Museum of Singapore. There an interactive art piece which engages the audience called “Imprint”. I want to bring out the message that as we go through life, we are imprinting ourselves onto other people life. I want to capture this to express that I am keen to imprint myself in others to be positive, it a more philosophy side of me.

Sculpture of Musicians

It has successfully engage people to stop and look for melodies, the blend of Music fuse together with Art. The combination of two elements; working in unison as a single unit.
The creation of this blog is precisely for this reason, the combination of schoolwork with passion. Much more than that, it a learning experience which I want to share.
I hope to gain much from this module - The Revealing Eye of Photography.
Looking forward with great anticipation!
